Flying Destination - Hard 8 BBQ

I recently had to fly up the to Fort Worth to take care of some business for the flight school. On our way back, my colleague and I decided we would "get lost" on our way home and detour over to Clark Field Municipal Airport (KSEP) to grab some lunch at the Hard Eight BBQ.

When we arrived at the airport it was surprisingly busy. Of all the times I have landed there or just did a touch-and-go, I had never seen so many airplanes parked on the ramp. The Hard Eight generously has parked 3 motorized carts in the parking lot for hungry aviators to get to and from the airport to the restaurant. You have to stick to the cart paths and park across the street from the restaurant at the armory.

Once you arrive at the armory, its just a quick walk across the street to the restaurant. As you enter you will weave you way past the BBQ bit to select you entree. They have everything from brisket to kabobs. I ordered a chopped brisket sandwich with jalepno bun with a side of fries and fountain drink.

For just about eight bucks you couldn't go wrong.
